I’ve had several inquiries regarding the exact release date for DUO. At this time, all I can say is that you will be able to get DUO for your e-readers in August.  In the meantime, I'd like to share a sample of DUO with all of you.  Just visit the DUO page on my website.

Happy Friday! It’s June 1st, and I can’t think of a better way to kick off my birthday month other than sharing something special. What might that be? It’s the cover for Duo. Visit the Duo page on my website or Chick Here!

Thanks for your support, feel free to spread the word and I hope you all have a great New Year.

Hello Again. I know it has been way to long, but I’m back. I’ve struggled the last few months with time management. So, this week I decided to simplify my life. I evaluated what the biggest problem was... the answer...Facebook games. I’ve consumed my free time with a farm, café, mafia, sorority, pets and countless other non-productive games. This left little time for the projects that I actually want to accomplish. So, as I wiped the tears away, I deleted and blocked the games.

I’m sure most of you game junkies out there are having a hard time grasping the concept of a delete and block button. And, I’m sure your wandering what made me take such drastic measures in the first place.

At the beginning of the year, I listed things I wanted to achieve this year (See previous entries for list). Some I’ve stuck with…eating right, no Pepsi, working out (26 pounds down). Others I’ve neglected…important ones. I wanted to read at least 24 books this year (7 so far). Keeping up with my journal and other writing projects stopped…until now!

An author I admire, Jennifer Echols, has a Public Shame Writing Challenge going on for the month of April. You set your own goal for the month, along with little daily goals.  There is no glitzy award for the winner, but you get your own parade and the satisfaction that you accomplished your own masterpiece…priceless if you ask me. If you enjoy writing, it's not too late to start!!!

Jenn, thank you for being the fuel to my almost nonexistent embers! I truly needed this kick start. My few fans (family) thank you too.

Okay, so this past week Sonya and I were introduced to something new…Zumba. All right, it’s not really new, but it’s new to me. Let me tell you, I’m addicted after two classes. What is Zumba? … Well, it’s a workout that is more like a Latin party. You are constantly moving for an hour (maybe a little more). Your arms are flailing in the air, booty shaking left to right and your heart pumping out of your chest.

Angie, the instructor, has a very inspirational story, lost a hundred pounds in less than a year. She went from a size 22w to a 10. If that isn’t inspiring, I don’t know what is. Even if I only lose a fraction of what she did, I’ll be at my pre-pregnancy weight. I guess time will only tell. Keep watching for a post with my success story.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!

Mommy Getaway!!!

Unfortunately, I come to you with no valid excuse as to why it’s been two whole weeks since my last entry. Yes, I said two weeks. For the few of you that grip the edge of your seat anticipating my next entry, I apologize immensely. Life is, well, life is crazy at the moment. The past two weeks have been filled with two sick kiddos, my schedule (mostly sleeping pattern) seems to be out of whack, I’ve felt under the weather, work has been picking up, friends and family have me playing those app games on Facebook ( I curse you Farmville), and the new season of American Idol started. As I said before, I don’t have a valid excuse.

So much for that New Year’s resolution. (The one I really wanted to achieve). I guess I’ll allow one lapse this year. As far as the rest go, I’m doing great. I’ve lost 10 pounds (so far), no Pepsi (kudos to me), and I’m on book five of my reading goal.

Now that the holidays are actually over and life seems to be getting (somewhat) back to normal, I can start planning a “Mommy Getaway” with Sonya. We’re planning a three day trip to NYC the weekend after Mother’s day. A much needed trip to remind us that we are more than Mommies and Wives. Don’t get me wrong, I love both those jobs, but a woman needs to be reminded that there is other things in life besides changing one diaper after another and wiping crayon and markers off the walls. Three days with not one “Give mommy a second.”, “Hold on.”, “Get off the table before you hurt yourself.”, “Quit whining, I can’t understand you.”, “Go ask your father”, “No, you can’t have ice cream for dinner.” and, of course “Because I said so, that’s why”.

We know that when it’s all said and done we will miss our Little Munchkins and we’ll bring them home a little something from FAO Schwarz Toy Store, but the idea of the guys changing diapers and cleaning food off the walls and hardwood floors, while we wine and dine in NYC puts a tiny smile on my face. Only thing left to say is “Three and a half months to go until…NYC Baby!!!”

Have a great week everyone!!!

Who needs a personal trainer when you have a four year old? Yesterday, I tried to workout while Buggie took his morning napped. I put a movie on for Princess, so I could workout without interruption, but it didn’t work. While doing crunches I answered questions. “Mommy, what are you doing?” “Why are you doing that?” “Can I do it too?” It was easier just to let her join me. So she took over, making up different thing for me to do. Let me tell you, she came up with stuff I could never imagine. If you want to try something difficult, try this: sit in the butterfly position. While in that position put you finger tips together and make a circle with your arms. Okay, this is where it gets tricky. Take one leg and put it through the circle and hold it there without touching your arms (before you ask, yes this is possible). I did it for about a minute, until I was tired of hold the position. Princess got preoccupied with the movie and forgot to tell me I could stop.

This morning I woke up in pain (no pain, no gain). I think I will incorporate a few of her moves in my workouts from now on. Obviously they work muscles I’m not using very often.

Here’s my new personal trainer:

This week (twelve years ago) I met my best friend, Sonya. We were both nannies for families in Greenwich CT. We never imagined that after our first encounter at McDonalds before karate class (for both the boys we watched) that we would end up here.

What is ‘here’ you might ask? Well, ‘here’ is years of talking on the phone back and forth every few months (sometimes it would be only days apart). Sharing exciting moments, and lending a shoulder to cry on (even if it was only over the phone). Then, in 2004, she came to be in my wedding, met my husband’s brother --- OUCH! Cupid hit her with his arrow.

Now, five and a half years later we have the same last name, two kiddos each, husbands that drive us crazy (in a good way…okay, sometimes bad), houses less that two miles from each other, and a friendship closer than ever.

So Happy Anniversary Sonya! If I wasn’t on my new year’s resolution diet right now, I’d raise a Big Mac to you.

PS --- Call me later ;-)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Books Read in 2010 - 2
Days with no Pepsi - 8

So, my 2010 has started out on the right foot. Well, technically it was my left foot, as I sleep on the left side of the bed. That’s right --- I’m a lefty. When I say lefty, I really mean it. I write with my left hand. To top it off, so does my husband. It’s not the reason we get along so well. It does help, we can sit at a table without bumping elbows. Of course, both our kids seem to be heading in the ‘right’ direction (pun intended). This leads me back to where I started --- 2010.

I survived three days with no Pepsi. (Applause is welcome)

I started to read a new book. My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands by Chelsea Handler. So far, I’ve almost peed my pants twice. It’s a must read, if you want to shoot milk through your nose.

Book count for 2010 – one (working on number two)

Time management seems to be work. I’ve made time to write. My current project is at 12,000 words…WOOT! WOOT!

I’m on a good start to my resolutions. It actually seems easy…right now… I’ll keep you posted.

Have a great Monday!!!

It’s almost 2010 (not only a new year, but a new decade). Looking back over the past ten years, I realized how much has actually happened to me.

I survived my twenties. I fell in love (real love, the kind you read about in books). I got married. I became a mommy. I survived child birth (not once, but twice). I became an aunt (thirteen times over). My best friend became my sister-in-law. I’ve lived in the same place for nine years (that’s a record --- I'm a military brat). I reconnected with friends from, as far back as, elementary school (thanks to Facebook and Myspace). The list goes on forever…I’ll probably add more as I think of it. I hope the next decade brings even more excitement.

As for Resolutions, I promised you my list. Here it goes.

1. I want to finish the three manuscripts I’ve outlined by the end of 2010. (Maybe even find an agent)  ;-)

2. I want to read at least twenty-four books by the end of 2010 (this will be a challenge as I’m the mommy of two little ones).

3. Eat better (less chocolate, more veggies)

4. Lose weight. I want to get to my goal weight by May. I will give you a minute to stop laughing. (I’m actually giving myself to the end of 2010)

5. Now that you have collected yourself…wait…okay, I think that’s the last of the laughter... I will go on. I want to get organized. That means I will us my daily planner everyday.

6. I will write in my blog at least twice a week.

7. I will not drink any Pepsi in 2010. My sister told me I was setting myself up for failure with this one, but I will do it. No PEPSI!

8. Try not to stress over the little things…I said ‘TRY’.

So, I know it will be a challenge, but I want to start the New Year off right. I hope everyone has a great New Year. I will be home with my hubby and kiddos watching the ball drop. Okay, trying to keep my eyes open so I can see the ball drop.

See you next year!!!
